Thank you for stopping by! I would love to be in touch if there are ways we can collaborate. A little about me — I’m a palliative care physician at Massachusetts General Hospital, a writer, parent, and creator. My life thus far has held many chapters. I trained in Family Medicine at Brown University and became passionate about LGBTQIA+ health. I co-founded the Rhode Island Trans Health Conference which continues to train hundreds of clinicians every year. Following residency, I worked as a PCP at Fenway Health, a nationally known LGBTQ+ health center in Boston.

I started to feel pulled toward the deeper questions at the core of caring for people. What was most important to my patients and what did quality of life mean? I craved a deeper understanding of the language these conversations require. Then, my grandma attempted suicide in 2019. After witnessing the biased ways her medical team communicated with us I knew it was time to make a change.

I went on to complete the Harvard Interprofessional Palliative Care Fellowship and remained at MGH thereafter. Alongside clinical work, I am an education co-lead for the MGH Continuum Project, which teaches serious illness communication to clinicians across MGH. I continues to teach about LGBQT+ inclusive palliative care. I am a faculty member of the Harvard Medical School-Fenway LGBTQIA+ Fellowship Program, and co-lead the Palliative Care Fellowship's health equity education efforts.

Lastly, I love to write. I was selected to be a 2021 OpEd Project Public Voices Fellow and enjoy both opinion-based and first-person narrative writing. I co-founded the Palliative Stories Exchange in 2020 which seeks to build community and enhance shared meaning for palliative care clinicians nationally and internationally.

Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my wife and our son, Oliver, being outside, camping, hiking, sipping on coffee, and exploring record stores. Please contact me directly here. I’d be delighted to hear from you!
